Get the Upper Hand on the Space under your Sink

I recently opened the cabinet under my kitchen sink. Not only did I discover a small drip, I discovered that I badly needed to organize this space!

Got the drip fixed and then I organized that space. It’s a small task that made a big difference!

If you haven’t thought about cleaning up the space under you sink, now is great time to get after it. It is simple and doesn’t take long!

Here are some tips to make the most of this often-overlooked space:

1. Start with a Clean Slate: Empty and Declutter

Take advantage of the inside of the cabinet doors. Adhesive hooks or mounted racks can hold dishcloths, gloves, or a small trash bag roll. There are also specially designed organizers that can mount on cabinet doors to hold larger bottles or cleaning supplies.

5. Add a Lazy Susan for Easy Access

A small turntable or Lazy Susan can be a game-changer under the sink. Place commonly used items on it, like spray cleaners and dish soap, so you can easily reach everything by giving it a quick spin.

6. Store Items in Vertical Tiers

Try to store items vertically if space allows. For example, stack spare sponges or dishwashing pods in small, stackable bins to make use of vertical space and keep items within reach without taking up too much surface area.

7. Group similar Items

Group similar items together. For example, keep all cleaning supplies in one area, sponges in another, and trash bags in a designated spot. This categorization makes it easier to find what you need quickly and keeps everything tidy

Lastly, regularly check this space to ensure it remains organized; a quick tidy-up every few months can prevent clutter from building up again
